No download is needed. Conqora is a browser game: the whole game, including the map renderer and the simulation, loads from conqora.io the first time you open it and is cached by your browser for the next visit. There is no launcher, no installer, no plugin, no Flash, and nothing that needs administrator rights.
Any modern browser with WebGL 2, which means nearly every browser released in the last five years:
For the best performance keep your browser up to date. Chrome and Edge on desktop also support the keyboard lock that lets the Esc key close menus while in full screen, instead of leaving full screen (hold Esc to leave).
Desktop PCs and laptops, MacBooks, Chromebooks (including school Chromebooks where browser games are allowed), Android phones and tablets, iPhones and iPads. The game has a separate touch interface for phones: tap to attack, long-press for the action menu, pinch to zoom, and a compact HUD built for thumbs.
The first visit downloads the game files and the map you play (a few megabytes, depending on the map); after that the browser cache keeps them. During a match only the players' actions travel over the network, so a match uses very little data and works fine on a phone connection. A stable connection matters more than a fast one.
Because the browser is where everyone already is. You can send a friend an invite link and they are in your lobby ten seconds later, on whatever device they have, without installing anything. Updates arrive the moment we ship them; you never wait for a patch to download.
Conqora is served over HTTPS, asks for no special permissions, and stores only what a game needs: your settings in the browser, and your account (if you make one) on our servers. See the privacy policy.

Here is everything that happens between typing the address and attacking your first tile, on any device:
No step involves an installer, a launcher or a store page.
A lot of people look for "games with no download" because they can't install anything on the computer in front of them. Because Conqora runs entirely in the browser:
Please respect your school's or employer's rules. If a network blocks game sites, Conqora will be blocked like any other.
It helps to know what runs where:
| Part | Where it runs |
|---|---|
| Map, borders and units | Your graphics chip, through WebGL 2, using a GPU map compositor |
| Game simulation | A background worker with a WebAssembly core |
| Your settings | Your browser's local storage |
| Your account, level and items | Conqora's servers (only if you make an account) |
| Other players' actions | Sent to you over the network during a match |
The simulation running in a worker keeps the page responsive even when a late-game World map has hundreds of borders moving at once.
Because there is no installed program, "reinstalling" Conqora simply means reloading the page. If something looks wrong after an update:
Moving to a new computer works the same way: open conqora.io and sign in. Nothing to copy, nothing to transfer.
Conqora is a live multiplayer game, so you need an internet connection to play, even in single player. The good news is that a match uses very little data once the map has loaded. See can I play Conqora offline?
