| Queue | Format | Maps |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | 1 vs 1 | Ironclad Strait, Ember Atoll, Highland Duel |
| Duo | 2 vs 2 | Twin Bays, Shattered Coast, Frost March |
| Trio | 3 vs 3 | Tri Delta, Sundered Isles, Grand Basin |
Ranked maps are small, built for the format, and have no nations, so the fight starts after about two minutes of expansion.
You need a free account. Open Ranked in the main menu, pick solo, duo or trio, and for duo and trio invite friends into your party with the link, code or Invite button.
| Tier | Rating |
|---|---|
| Bronze | below 1000 |
| Silver | 1000–1149 |
| Gold | 1150–1299 |
| Platinum | 1300–1449 |
| Diamond | 1450–1599 |
| Master | 1600–1899 |
| Grandmaster | 1900+ |
Each tier has three divisions (III, II, I). Your tier shows on your profile, lobby card and the leaderboards.
Ranked and clan war matches give double XP toward your level and the battle pass.
More: ranked guide.
Placements move your rating more than later matches, so it pays to arrive prepared rather than learning the maps in your first five games.
Ranked maps carry territories but no nations: the solo maps hold 20 territories, duo 40 and trio 60. In 1v1 they are effectively the third player, so taking them faster than your opponent is a big part of the early game.
Tiers are 150 rating points wide with three divisions each. The advice below is about habits, not secrets; most rating comes from making fewer mistakes than the other side.
| Tier | What usually decides games | Focus on |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | Overextending and attacking with too many troops | Keep your attack ratio moderate so troops regrow near their fastest rate (around 40% of max) |
| Silver | Slow expansion and late first buildings | A fast, clean opening; your first City and Port on time |
| Gold | Losing the territories race | Farm territories while your opponent is busy and contest theirs |
| Platinum | Undefended borders and coasts | Defense Posts on the front, a Warship to stop boats |
| Diamond | Economy differences | Ports, factories and trade; gold decides who can afford nukes |
| Master | Nuke and SAM timing | Silo deep inside your land, SAM cover before you commit, the T overlay |
| Grandmaster | Small decisions under pressure | Scouting, reading your opponent's build, punishing every gap |
Leaving a ranked match counts as a loss. Make sure you have time for a full match before you queue; most last 10 to 30 minutes.
Each queue (solo, duo, trio) has its own rating starting at 1000, and in team queues the team's result counts for every member.
The rating looks at how strong your opponents were. Beating higher-rated players is worth more; beating lower-rated players is worth less, and losing to a stronger player costs less.
You are still in your first five matches. You already have a rating, but the game shows your placement progress instead of a tier until all five are done.
