Maps guide: the maps, how they play, and the map editor

Conqora guide · updated 2026-10-14

Conqora has more than fifty maps: the real world and its regions, fictional continents and islands, and community maps made in the in-game editor. The shape of the map decides the match: chokepoints, coastlines and the number of nations change how fast the early game goes and where the wars happen.

Quick-game maps

Public quick games rotate through the big maps so that the same one doesn't repeat for a while:

World

61 nations, every ocean. The classic: slow start, big empires, nukes in the second half.

Europe

49 nations in a small space. Borders from minute one; alliances decide it.

Africa

36 nations, long coasts and a huge interior. Sea raids on one side, land war on the other.

MENA

The Middle East and North Africa: deserts, straits and the Mediterranean.

Asia

25 nations over the largest land mass; the player who holds the centre holds the game.

North America

49 nations, two coasts, the Caribbean. Great for carrier play.

South America

24 nations, the Andes as a wall, rivers that boats follow deep inland.

Black Sea

A sea in the middle, land all around: whoever controls the water controls the trade.

Britannia

Islands. Build the port first.

East Asia

22 nations, long coastlines, island chains for naval players.

Oceania

32 nations on islands and one continent. Boats and warships everywhere.

Italia

A peninsula and its islands; tight borders and a lot of coast.

Ranked maps

Ranked uses small fictional maps built for the number of players: Ironclad Strait, Ember Atoll and Highland Duel for 1v1; Twin Bays, Shattered Coast and Frost March for 2v2; Tri Delta, Sundered Isles and Grand Basin for 3v3. They have no nations, so the fight is between the players and the bots from the start.

Lobby maps

Private lobbies and single player can use any map, including the Giant World Map (97 nations), Europe Classic, Pangaea, Mars, Pluto, Deglaciated Antarctica, Iceland, the Falkland and Faroe Islands, the Strait of Gibraltar, Yenisei, Baikal and the fictional set (Amber Coast, Ashen Steppe, Crownlands, Emberfall, Fjordreach, Gilded Isles, Hollow Crown, Mirror Bay, Serpent Rift, Stormbreak, Sunken Vale, Thousand Lakes, Titan's Reach, Twin Fangs, Twin Realms and more).

The map editor and community maps

Map editor in the main menu lets you paint land, water, mountains and rivers, place nations and publish the map. Published maps are reviewed and then appear under Community maps, where anyone can play them in single player or a lobby. Good community maps get played thousands of times; the editor shows a play counter.
